Please post what you are seeing from the formula Jerry sent you in this post . It will be nice to see what each person is seeing where they live . What works here might not work there

Not really since I was testing it next to baited sites . I kind of have the deer used to bait so they would hit that each and every time .
I just placed four bottles out in areas that have never been baited to see what happens . I am kind of with you guys since I just ( yesterday ) placed them out alone with nothing else .
I will check my cams next Thursday to see what I have .

This is what Jerry told me to do;
What i have been doing here in NC is to clear out about a 2 ft square section on the ground. Next i take a screwdriver and punch holes in the ground around a 10" circle and loosen the dirt up real good and then pour the solution over the dirt. I would try to use 2/3 of it and save the other in case you want to spray some on some grass or other foliage they to see if it draws them in. I am hoping they eat the dirt on the ground like they have been doing here on a regular basis. Keep me in touch and God Bless. Jerry

Jerry,
You sent me #121605.5
I have had it in the field for 8 days. There was some activity around the site everyday, but only a few pics of animals actually with their nose to it. If I had not had a camera on the site I wouldn't have necessarily thought there was any activity as the site was pretty much "undisturbed". I had the cam on a 1 minute delay and only had 1 instance of multiple/back to back pics of deer...it was a big ole pregnant doe. I had several different bucks come near the site, but only one that actually got caught with his nose down to the stuff. I had 23 pics in 8 days. This was a new site right on trail that had no prior feed/mineral use. On a really good note, I did finally get my first pic of a coyote...he was checkin the stuff out. No hog activity at the site.
I left the cam on the site and turned it to video mode with a 1 minute delay to maybe see better how the deer are reacting.
I would be happy to try out any other attractant you would like to send my way.
Thanks,
Ross

Set mine out last night, weather's been ok for a couple days now. Checked my video today only to find I had an hour and four minutes of two rabbits hoppin by and a lot of shadows. Sensitivity was up too high on the board. Made an adjustment this afternoon and set it back out. Hopefully it will be fine now. Just going to give it a quick peek tomorrow to make sure it's not taping shadows again.

Checked the attractant site this morning.
attractant #121605.5
I also put the moon phase on the pic's, bottom right corner
This picture is of the spot I put the attractant, there was a few deer track's in it.

First deer pic's near the attractant.

tree rat

First picture of a deer over the attractant.

Looks like it wanted to check out the flash too.

two pictures of deer that cruzed on by.

This one is harder to see , off to the left (you can see his tail).

This deer was bumped, I came in 4 minutes after this picture.
It was now or never for checking the cam kids got out of school early.

Put the attractant out on the 12 of May.

sbh, I had the same attractant # out as you, and had very similar results. Deer were somewhat interested in it, weren't "spooked" by it, but didn't love it. Be kinda neat to see if anyone used the same formula somewhere else and they tore it up.

No deer yet on mine. Seems to be a lot of yotes in the area and fawns are dropping. Could be keeping the deer off my property right now. Haven't had much coming through.

Jerry and others, I have to apologize.

I have put two posts under the campfire forum string. Couldn't remember where DL said to put them, until I saw trhis string again tonight.

Guess I need to tie a string to something to remember.
I've had pretty good luck with one sample, only minimal on the second. Coons and rabbits seem to like them both as well.

Fellas, here is a little email exchange I had with Jerry. Most would know/assume all this already, but I just wanted to confirm with him:
Jerry, a few quick questions so I'm sure I give your formulas their best shot:
Is there any preference between a sunny or shady location? or is just having consistent traffic in the area what we need to look for...i.e. the results will be evident pretty quick if you hit on something?
As I test new formulas, can I use the same chopped up ground locations or do I need a "fresh dig" with each formula?
If you send multiple formulas, what kinda of spacing do I need to have on the locations?
I assume if one the formulas really strikes a cord with our deer, they will really "dig" into it?
Sorry for so many questions, and thanks for letting me help on this!
Ross Baker

Ross, i would use a fresh spot on the ground with each new formula to avoid overlapping scents. I usually space them out about 10 feet apart and most of my testing has been in the shady areas in the pine thickets where they find secure refuge. You will see a dig in the dirt if they like it quickly. Thanks so much Ross for testing for me. I look forword working with you on these. God Bless. Jerry

I had formula 121605.5 I live close to Omaha, NE.
Had camera out for 1 week (5/14 - 5/20. Pictures of 21 deer walking on a trail 4-10 feet from where I had cleared the soil and added attractant. 3 of the 21 had pictures right by the attactant. Only one of them had numerous pictures where he actually had his head down in the soil area. See photos. Let me know if you need me to test anything else or if you have any questions about my results. All of the pictures attached are taken with them standing at the edge of the spot. The one with his head down is licking at the spot.

Kevin, Nice PICS.

How's the open ground look after a week? Does it look like deer were trying to tear it up? From what Jerry says, the deer really tear up the areas when they are really attracted to the sites.Just wondering, cause I have one sample used very heavily, and another that is showing only occasional interest by deer.

51906 A-2, A-4, & A-6. I had these 3 out for the past week and had really low activity on the whole. Only had a couple of deer even get close to the spots. Only 1 really took a good whiff. The dirt at all 3 spots was basically undisturbed. The 3 are pretty close together...makes me wonder if one of the 3 particularily turned the deer off with the drop off in activity in the area.

This is the second week of test for attractant 121605.5 Still not much activity in area were I put attractant, only 3 pictures. There was no pawing or scratcing where i dumped the attactant. Jerry I do not think this formula works very well in North Central Wisconsin. I moved camera back to a mineral site that I also dump an attactant[Beast Feast] on to see what kind of activity this site has. Thanks Jerry for allowing me to participate in your test. If you have any other formulas for me to test let me know. Here are the pictures.

I got my bottle in the other day. Been waiting for the wheat to be cut so I can et back to the woods.
I did talk to Jerry earlier today and he seems like a really great guy to help out. He basiclly told me to work up the site and pour it over, but kept saying something about the rain. Here in W. TN at this time of the year a thunder storm can pop up out of nowhere.
So here is the idea I had and would like to share with yall. Thought about making the site like Jerry suggested, and pouring some of it on the ground. Then pour the rest into a small bag and hang it over the site. Hopefully the sun will warm the bag and let it slowly drip on the site. What do ya think? Good idea or am I thinking like a idiot?

In Texas, except for the coast, rain isn't as issue. It's just darn hot and bone dry. I wonder how long the formulas effectiveness last in low humidity 100 degree weather? I have one of those scent drippers...seems like a few ounces in the dripper and the rest on the ground might be a good idea. Maybe Jerry/gloss1 will chime in on this........

Checked my first test site today. After several day of more HEAVY HEAVY flooding rains, I have several pics of deer standing in the pit I dug checking it out. Unfortunalty I did not birng my extra memory stick so I left it there till next time
I put this pit about 20 yards off a well used trail. It took 3 days to get the first pics but had pics every day after that.
I will post pics latter.
