There are several chemicals that are used by us food plot junkies that have generic versions available. The most common one is glyphosate (RoundUp). Another one that I use in pine stands to control hardwood vegetation is Arsenal (imazapyr). Arsenal is EXPENSIVE at $135/quart. I just located a post patent version. The company that produces the generic version of Arsenal also produce a generic glyphosate as well as other chemicals.
