I took my Knight LK-93 .50 cal muzzeloader out today to check to make sure it was shotting straight. I switched to 777 pellets, and this was the first time shooting them. What i have found works best for my Knight is Barnes Red Hot Bullets (245 gr.) and 100 grains of pyrodex pellets. But using the 777 pellets, i noticed a couple flyers (off by maybe 6 inches), 3 other shots were right on target at 50 yards. I never noticed flyers when i was using the regular pyrodex pellets.
Are the 777 pellets the equivilent of the regular pyrodex pellets, (grain for grain). A leaflet in the 777 box said not to use more than 100 grains with any gun. I thought some newer guns could safely shoot 150 grains? Just want to make sure they are the same.

777 at 100 grains equals other powders at 115 grains. I tried my TC with 3 pellets and dropped back to 2. I think they also make them in 30 grain pellets, but I cant find any. I will stick with the 2 pellets. Gun is good to about 150 ( Shoots woodchucks) with powerbelt 295 gr bullets. I did pickup some 338 grain Powerbelt platiniums the other day. The ballistics are only a couple of inches different but the energy is quite a bit higher. None of the 4 deer I have shot with the 295's had full penetration and three broke up in the animals. One shot that I took head on thru the brisket was lodged just behind the liver(perfect hole thru the heart)
Long winded but to answer your question 777 is hotter than the other forms.
